Kusan: City of Wolves Demo Beginner Guide

Start the Kusan: City of Wolves demo with confirmed controls, aiming options, combat tools, and progression facts from PQube.

The Kusan: City of Wolves demo presents the opening chapter and introduces the fast, precise combat that defines the full game. It is available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Progress does not transfer because the demo and full game use separate save files.

Choose an aiming style

Open settings before the first serious encounter:

  • Stylish uses the highest level of aim assist for a streamlined experience.
  • Free Aim gives manual control over the aim-assist slider for players who want direct aiming.

The setting can be changed at any time. Start with the option that lets you read the arena and move consistently, then experiment as your accuracy improves.

Learn Jin's three-part toolkit

Jin's combat combines firearms, the War Hand, and the Quantum Knife. The official weapon list includes the Pistol, Revolver, Shotgun, Crossbow, War Hand, and Quantum Knife, although the demo is not guaranteed to expose every full-game unlock.

  • Use firearms to handle threats at an appropriate range.
  • Use the War Hand for forceful close-range actions and environmental destruction.
  • Use the auto-targeting Quantum Knife alongside other attacks to control space and connect combat sequences.

Keep moving and observe

Kusan is designed around speed, positioning, and precision. Standing still makes it harder to maintain safe angles. Enter a room with a route in mind, identify the most immediate threat, and leave enough room to react rather than committing to a long sequence blindly.

Understand progression

The full game awards Bolts and Cores that unlock weapon and ability upgrades. Purchased upgrades cannot be reset during that playthrough. The full campaign contains 54 hand-crafted stages, supports mission replay, and offers S/SS-Rank challenges. A typical full playthrough is officially estimated at 8–12 hours, depending on playstyle.

What this guide does not claim

Official material does not provide a room-by-room demo route, named demo boss script, fixed enemy counts, invincibility-frame values, or upgrade costs. Consult the current in-game tutorial for exact inputs and encounter-specific information.
