Kusan: City of Wolves Gameplay Guide

Understand the confirmed Kusan: City of Wolves combat loop, weapons, Techtrix progression, stages, bosses, and aiming options.

Kusan: City of Wolves is a single-player hardcore top-down shooter where fast movement, precise attacks, and deliberate loadouts turn compact arenas into tactical challenges. You play as Jin, a former soldier turned fixer trying to save Haru in a city ruled by violence and corruption.

Core combat

Jin combines conventional firearms with the War Hand and Quantum Knife. The official launch FAQ names the Pistol, Revolver, Shotgun, Crossbow, War Hand, and Quantum Knife. No sniper rifle is included in that confirmed list.

The War Hand provides forceful close-range options and can interact with environmental obstacles. The Quantum Knife is an auto-targeting military blade that can be used alongside Jin's other attacks. Effective play comes from combining tools, maintaining movement, and selecting the right range for the current threat.

Aiming options

  • Stylish provides the highest level of aim assistance.
  • Free Aim gives manual control over the aim-assist slider.

Both can be changed in settings at any time.

Techtrix, Bolts, and Cores

Players earn Bolts and Cores to unlock weapon and ability upgrades. Techtrix pieces fit into a limited grid, so loadouts involve decisions about space, specialisation, and flexibility. Purchased upgrades cannot be reset during the same playthrough.

Stages, bosses, and replay

The campaign contains 54 hand-crafted stages across multiple chapters. Official descriptions mention skill-based puzzles, challenges, S-Ranks, and bosses with distinctive mechanics. Completed missions can be replayed to improve rankings, find missed secrets, and refine strategies.

Platforms and demo

The confirmed platforms are Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. A demo is available on those platforms, and its save does not transfer to the full game. There is no confirmed PS4 release in the official launch list.
