Kusan: City of Wolves Preview and Official Overview

Preview Kusan: City of Wolves using confirmed story, combat, progression, stage, platform, and demo information.

Kusan: City of Wolves is a high-octane hardcore top-down shooter developed by CIRCLEfromDOT and published by PQube. It launched July 30, 2026 and follows Jin, a former soldier turned fixer, as he fights to save Haru from a conspiracy consuming a corrupt, cyber-infused metropolis.

Combat identity

Combat rewards speed, precision, movement, and clean execution. Jin combines firearms with the War Hand and the auto-targeting Quantum Knife. The official weapon list includes the Pistol, Revolver, Shotgun, Crossbow, War Hand, and Quantum Knife.

Players can choose Stylish aim for stronger assistance or Free Aim for manual control of the aim-assist slider. The setting can be changed at any time.

Progression and replay

Bolts and Cores unlock upgrades for weapons and abilities. Techtrix adds a limited-grid loadout puzzle, asking players to balance specialised upgrades against flexible configurations. Purchased upgrades cannot be reset during the same playthrough.

The campaign contains 54 hand-crafted stages across multiple chapters. Missions can be replayed to improve rankings, find secrets, and refine combat routes. Official guidance estimates a typical playthrough at 8–12 hours, with additional challenges for completionists and SS-Rank hunters.

Story and presentation

The story is delivered through dynamic comic-panel cutscenes in a rain-soaked pixel-art city. Korean hip-hop producer Loptimist provides the soundtrack, giving the action an identity distinct from the game's top-down shooter inspirations.

Platforms and demo

Confirmed platforms are PC through Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. A demo covering the opening chapter is available on all four; progress does not transfer to the full game.

There is no confirmed PS4 or Xbox One release, and no dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 edition is announced in the supplied launch material. PQube stated that Steam Deck play was supported but the game was not yet Steam Deck Verified at the time of the FAQ. No unverified 4K, 60fps, 144fps, loading-time, or input-latency claims are used here.
